Nutella Hot Cocoa Ingredients

  • Sweetened Condensed Milk: This will add sweetness without giving your hot chocolate any gritty texture.
  • Unsweetened Cocoa: You can add a little more or less depending on how “dark” you like your chocolate.
  • Vanilla: gives it a deep flavor
  • Salt: cuts the sweetness just a tad
  • Whole Milk: keeps the hot chocolate nice and creamy
  • Nutella (or chocolate hazelnut spread): This will give your hot chocolate that Nutella flavor we all love.

How To Make Slow Cooker Hot Chocolate with Nutella

  1. Add the ingredients to the slow cooker. In a slow cooker, add the sweetened condensed milk, Nutella, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, salt, and half of the milk. Whisk until combined, then add the rest of the milk and whisk again.
  2. Cook. Place lid on the slow cooker and turn to LOW. Cook for about 2 hours, stirring every 20-30 minutes.
  3. Serve. Once the mixture reaches 160-185 degrees F, turn off the crockpot or set to warm. Stir well, then ladle into mugs and serve with whipped cream. Enjoy!

Temperatures above 185 will scald the hot chocolate and the flavor will change or the sugars will burn.  It’s best to slowly bring the temperature of the hot chocolate up to 160 degrees.
