This Garlic Roasted Broccoli is full of flavor and texture, unlike steamed broccoli which can sometimes get a little mushy. Once it has finished roasting, season with fresh lemon juice, salt, and pepper and serve warm with just about any main course.
If you love a little spice, try sprinkling a few red pepper flakes and some chopped red onion in before you bake the broccoli. Or after you take it out of the oven, substitute the lemon juice for balsamic vinegar. You can also substitute the lemon juice for some Parmesan cheese. This is another favorite at my house!

Lemon and Garlic Broccoli Ingredients
- Broccoli Florets - your broccoli should be washed and patted dry before cutting florets into evenly sized 1" pieces. The larger the pieces, the longer it will take to roast.
- Avocado Oil - you can substitute olive oil, or any other kind of cooking oil.
- Garlic - fresh minced garlic has the best flavor.
- Fresh Lemon - you will use the fresh lemon juice to squeeze over the roasted broccoli. You could also add some of the fresh lemon zest if you'd like.
- Salt and Pepper
How to Make Roasted Broccoli With Garlic and Lemon
- Prep the broccoli. Wash and cut broccoli into evenly sized 1" pieces. Using a hand towel, pat-dry the washed broccoli then place in a large freezer bag.
- Season. Add the oil and minced garlic, toss well, then spread onto a baking sheet in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper.
- Cook. Roast in your preheated 400 degree oven for 20-25 minutes, or until fork tender and lightly golden on the edges.
- Serve. Remove from the oven and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the top. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve warm. Enjoy!
