- Hot Sauce - Frank's Red Hot Sauce is my go-to hot sauce and the hot sauce that this recipe is made for. Every hot sauce brand has a different level of heat, so if you choose another you may need to experiment with the quantity of brown sugar.
- Brown Sugar - dark brown sugar gives a deeper molasses flavor and is my preference for buffalo sauce. Light brown sugar can be substituted as well as honey.
How to Make This Easy Buffalo Sauce Recipe
- Boil the hot sauce and brown sugar. In a medium saucepan, boil for 1 minute while stirring.
- Cool. Let the sauce cool to room temperature.
- Store or use immediately. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week or use immediately on chicken, wings, pizza, burgers, and more. Enjoy!

In the fridge, this buffalo sauce will last for 1 week. With that being said, I have stored in for even up to two weeks and it was perfectly fine. Just be sure it has cooled completely before putting in an airtight container in the fridge.
If you want your buffalo sauce to be a little more mild, add ⅓ cup of unsalted butter to the saucepan and boil along with the hot sauce and brown sugar.
