Ingredients You Will Need
- White Chocolate - the easiest white chocolate to use for white chocolate covered strawberries is white chocolate candy melts. They are specially formulated to be melted down and used for dipping. You can also use white chocolate chips or a high quality white chocolate. These have great flavor but are a little trickier to work with and burn much more easily.
- Strawberries - chocolate dipped strawberries look best when they have nice green tops and a little stem. Try and find strawberries that are firm, very red, and around the same size.
- Blue Sanding Sugar - for dipping, use a fine blue sanding sugar or tiny blue sprinkles. If the pieces are too large the strawberries wonโt look nearly as nice.
How to Make 4th of July Strawberries
- Wash and dry the strawberries. Rinse the strawberries and dry with a paper towel. Let air dry for at least 15-30 minutes until completely dry.
- Melt the chocolate. Melt white chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between.
- Dip the strawberries. Dip each strawberry into the melted white chocolate, shake off excess, and then dip into a deep bowl full of blue sprinkles. Let cool on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and repeat with the rest of the strawberries.
- Serve. Once the chocolate has completely set up, you can serve. Enjoy!
Recipe Tips
- Canโt find blue sugar? You can make your own blue sugar by putting a tiny bit of food coloring on a fork and mixing it into a small bowl full of regular sugar.
- Make sure your strawberries are room temperature before you dip themโnot cold. If they are cold, they will form condensation on the white chocolate very soon after dipping.
- If your white chocolate is a little too thick, mix in a teaspoon of melted coconut oil to try and thin it out just a small amount.
