As opposed to something like cupcakes, cheesecakes, cookies, or bars, this recipe will only take you a few minutes to prepare.

Just thoroughly dry your strawberries and dip into melted white chocolate followed by blue sugar or sprinkles. Let them set up at room temperature and then serve! The combination of juicy strawberries, creamy white chocolate, and crunchy blue sugar is absolute perfection.

How to make white chocolate covered red white and blue strawberries for the 4th of July.

Ingredients You Will Need

  • White Chocolate – the easiest white chocolate to use for white chocolate covered strawberries is white chocolate candy melts. They are specially formulated to be melted down and used for dipping. You can also use white chocolate chips or a high quality white chocolate. These have great flavor but are a little trickier to work with and burn much more easily.
  • Strawberries – chocolate dipped strawberries look best when they have nice green tops and a little stem. Try and find strawberries that are firm, very red, and around the same size.
  • Blue Sanding Sugar – for dipping, use a fine blue sanding sugar or tiny blue sprinkles. If the pieces are too large the strawberries won’t look nearly as nice. 

How to Make 4th of July Strawberries

  1. Wash and dry the strawberries. Rinse the strawberries and dry with a paper towel. Let air dry for at least 15-30 minutes until completely dry.
  2. Melt the chocolate. Melt white chocolate in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between. 
  3. Dip the strawberries. Dip each strawberry into the melted white chocolate, shake off excess, and then dip into a deep bowl full of blue sprinkles. Let cool on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and repeat with the rest of the strawberries.
  4. Serve. Once the chocolate has completely set up, you can serve. Enjoy!

Recipe Tips

  • Can’t find blue sugar? You can make your own blue sugar by putting a tiny bit of food coloring on a fork and mixing it into a small bowl full of regular sugar.
  • Make sure your strawberries are room temperature before you dip them—not cold. If they are cold, they will form condensation on the white chocolate very soon after dipping.
  • If your white chocolate is a little too thick, mix in a teaspoon of melted coconut oil to try and thin it out just a small amount.

Ingredients

  • 18 large strawberries, with stems
  • 12 ounces white chocolate wafers
  • 2 tablespoons blue sprinkles, or blue sugar

Instructions
 

  • Wash and rinse the strawberries, then lay them on a paper towel to air dry completely—between 15 minutes to 60 minutes at room temperature.
  • Place the white chocolate wafers in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds, stir, and repeat until the chocolate is almost melted. Gently stir until completely melted, smooth, and shiny.
  • Cover a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Add the blue sprinkles to a small deep bowl, then dip each strawberry into the melted white chocolate about 2/3 up the strawberry. Gently shake to remove excess chocolate, then dip about 1/3 up the strawberry into the blue sprinkles. Place onto the parchment covered baking sheet and repeat with the rest of the berries.
  • Let the strawberries sit in a cool dark place at room temperature until the chocolate hardens completely—about 1 hour. Enjoy!
