Ingredients You Will Need
- Chex Cereal - Rice Chex is super light and crisp which is the perfect vessel for a rich and chocolatey coating. Crispix would also work well.
- Chocolate Chips - these will be melted along with the Nutella. You could try using milk chocolate, white chocolate, or even a different flavor like peanut butter to create different variations.
- Nutella - Nutella is a hazelnut spread with a similar consistency to peanut butter, so it is a great alternative for those with allergies. This gets melted with the butter and chocolate chips.
- Butter - salted butter tastes great with the rich and sweet chocolate and Nutella, although unsalted would work, too.
- Vanilla Extract - just a little bit of vanilla extract enhances all of the flavors in this snack.
- Powdered Sugar - this will coat the chocolate and Nutella layer and sort of seals it all up once it cools.
How to Make Nutella Puppy Chow
- Melt the chocolate, Nutella, and butter. In a microwavable bowl, combine the chocolate chips, Nutella, and butter. Microwave on high for about 45 seconds and stir. Heat again for 30 seconds and stir until all of the chocolate chips are melted and the mixture is creamy.

- Coat in powdered sugar. Add half of the cereal mixture to a gallon freezer bag, or another plastic bag. Add half of the powdered sugar, seal, and gently shake until the cereal is coated. Repeat with the remaining cereal mixture.
