How to make a Graham Cracker Crust:

    1. Crush the Crackers- Use a food processor to mince your graham crackers into crumbs. You will want about 1 ½ cups of Graham Cracker crumbs for a 9" pie plate.  (This should be about 12 full sheets of graham crackers)
    2. Sweeten- Add sugar, coconut sugar or sucanat to the graham crackers to sweeten the crust.
    3. Add the butter- This works as a binder and will allow your crust to be pressing into the bottom of a pie crust.
    4. Add Cinnamon- if desired. (½ teaspoon cinnamon) this gives it a really rich flavor.

Tips for Making a Graham Cracker Crust

    • Toss the mixture with a fork or your hands.

    • Use the back of a spoon, the flat bottom of a measuring cup or your hands to press the graham cracker mixture into a pie plate.  Be sure to try and get the sides even first and then press the remaining crumbs into the bottom of the pie plate.
    • To finish the graham cracker crust, to make sure it doesn't crumble and will hold it's shaping while being served, bake the crust in a 350-degree oven for 12-14 minutes.
    • You can also freeze the graham cracker crust for about 30 minutes.  This method works great too and just firms up the butter.

You can lightly spray the baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

How many graham crackers are 2 cups?
