Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken Recipe
There's no need to teriyaki chicken takeout when you have this recipe. It is so easy and has all the same flavors as your favorite teriyaki takeout.
This is an easy crockpot dinner. This slow cooker chicken teriyaki is one of my go-to dinner ideas. My entire family loves it.
The other great thing about this teriyaki chicken recipe is that I can throw it in the crockpot and forget about it.
We also love enjoying this recipe with fresh pineapple. It's the perfect side to this delicious chicken dinner idea. Steam some rice and veggies, dinner is ready!
What chicken is best for chicken teriyaki:
Boneless chicken thighs are best when making this chicken teriyaki recipe. It makes the moistest chicken recipe, however, if you don't have chicken thighs, chicken tenderloins or chicken breast will do too.

Tips for Making this Teriyaki Chichen recipe in the slow cooker:
- You can marinate the chicken for 0 to 24 hours
- This chicken recipe works great with chicken thighs, however, chicken tenderloin or chicken breast works great too.
- The brand of soy sauce I recommend is Aloha Soy, low sodium
- Chicken teriyaki recipe can be served over steamed rice or a vegetable stir-fry. It's amazing with fresh pineapple too!
- Use a meat thermometer to make sure your chicken is cooked all the way through.

Crockpot Teriyaki Chicken
Ingredients
- 1 cup Soy Sauce (Low sodium works great too)
- ¼ cup Green Onions, sliced thinly
- ¼ cup Brown Sugar
- 4 Tablespoons Avocado Oil
- 1 teaspoon Ginger Powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons minced Garlic
- 1 teaspoon Green onions and Sesame Seeds for Garnish
- 4-5 med sized Chicken Thighs ( you can use chicken thighs for this recipe but chicken tenderloins and chicken breast for this recipe too. Chicken thighs will be the most moist chicken for this recipe)
Instructions
- For the teriyaki sauce, in a mixing bowl, add the soy sauce, green onions, brown sugar, avocado oil, ginger powder, and minced garlic. Mix until combined.
- Add the Chicken thighs to the crock pot. (Plan on about ⅓ lb meat per adult and ¼ lb per child.) Pour the teriyaki sauce on the chicken
- It's best to use chicken thighs for this recipe but chicken tenderloins and chicken breast work fine too. ( Chicken thighs will produce the moistest chicken. )
- Cook on high for 3 hours or low for 6 hours. If you're unsure if your chicken is done, use a meat thermometer to make sure your chicken reaches 160 degrees Fahrenheit.
- If you would like some teriyaki sauce to serve with your Crockpot Teriyaki chicken, you can use the teriyaki sauce in the crockpot or you can thicken it on the stove.
- To Thicken it on the stove, Heat the marinade until it boils. In a small separate bowl, add one tablespoon of cornstarch and a couple tablespoons of water. Mix until it is combined. Slowly add the cornstarch to the sauce and stir until slightly thick. Serve over rice or steamed veggies. Enjoy!
