Pull Apart Garlic Bread
This garlic pull-apart bread is easy to make and fun to eat. Once baked, it's got big pieces of flakey, buttery garlic bread that can be pulled right off. Each bite is chewy on the inside with a little bit of crusty perfection on the outside.
You can either use the dough included in this recipe, or your favorite homemade pizza dough. Feel free to adjust the seasoning and cheeses to make different flavor combinations. Serve as a side for soup, salad, and pasta, or as a fun appetizer along with warm marinara sauce.
The Best Dough To Use
- Pre-made pizza dough- You can usually find this in the supermarket's refrigerated section by the pepperoni or other pizza toppings. This works great for a quick pull-apart bread assembly.
- Frozen Bread Dough-- Rhodes Rolls has a bread dough that would work really well for this recipe. Just thaw the dough and then roll out and spread with garlic butter before baking.
- Make Your Own Dough- Included is a recipe for some amazing dough to make this pull-apart bread. It really is so easy and only takes a few minutes to make.
Key Ingredients
- Flour- regular all-purpose flour works great for making this dough. If you want to make it gluten free, you can try substituting your favorite gluten free flour mix.
- Yeast- this recipe uses active dry yeast which needs to be activated by mixing it with sugar and warm water first.
- Sugar- regular granulated sugar is great, or you can substitute honey.
- Water- the water needs to be warmโabout the temperature of your wrist.
- Butter- Be sure to have this at room temperature. You can also soften it in the microwave for 20 seconds if needed.
- Parmesan Cheese- grated parmesan works great in this recipe. Shredded will also work, but the pieces won't be distributed quite as evenly.
- Parsley- while I used parsley, you could try making this recipe with other fresh or dried herbs such as oregano, rosemary, or thyme.
- Garlic Powder- using garlic powder eliminates any little chunks of garlic. However, if you like the flavor of fresh roasted garlic better, you could finely mince it and use that instead.

Can I use einkorn flour?
Jill Baird
Sure but keep in mind, when using Einkorn flour, you will need to reduce the liquids by 1/3. Give it 2 rising cycles. Best of luck!
Caryn
So what does one do with the other 1\3 of butter? Or is it supposed to be 1\2? I believe a 9x13 pan by picrures?
Sara
Hi! Thereโs no oil in the dough recipe. Is that correct? Thank you!
The Carefree Kitchen
yes, no oil needed. It makes a very crusty top and chewy inside!
