- 1 pound pizza dough
- 3/4 cup white pizza sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil sliced thinly
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 large tomatoes
Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F.
With lightly floured hands, stretch and shape your pizza dough into a 12" round pizza pan. If it begins to resist, let the dough relax for a couple of minutes and then continue to stretch. Spread the white sauce evenly and thinly over the stretched dough using an offset spatula. Be sure to spread only up to about 1" from the edge of the pizza all the way around. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the top of the sauce. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the cheese has melted. Remove from oven.
To finish, add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, sliced fresh basil, a drizzle of olive oil, and fresh tomatoes. Enjoy!
Storing leftovers: Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheating: To reheat, either microwave or reheat in a preheated 350 degree oven.
Make-ahead tips: Pizza dough can be made the day before and stored in the fridge overnight. The next day, pull the dough out to room temperature for about 30 minutes before shaping, adding toppings, and baking as directed.
