Sun-Dried Tomato Alfredo Sauce Recipe

This sun-dried tomato Alfredo sauce is the perfect blend of cheese and sun-dried tomatoes. You can use as a sauce on your favorite noodles or as a dipping sauce for breadsticks or broccoli.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces sun-dried tomatoes
  • cups chicken broth
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups Parmesan cheese shredded or grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound pasta cooked according to package directions

Instructions

  • In a blender, add the sun-dried tomatoes and chicken broth. Blend well and set aside.
  • Heat a medium saucepan over medium low heat, and add the cream. Bring it to a boil and boil for 1½ minutes until it thickens slightly.
  • Add the sun-dried tomato mixture, Parmesan cheese, garlic salt, nutmeg, and black pepper and return to a boil. Stir until smooth and creamy
  • Add your sauce to some freshly cooked pasta, steamed vegetables or use as a dipping sauce for your favorite breadsticks.  Enjoy!

Notes

Storing Instructions: store in a jar or airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. Unfortunately this sauce doesn't freeze very well.
Reheating:  place the Alfredo sauce to a saucepan, add a little milk or chicken broth to thin it out, and heat it slowly.  Be sure to stir constantly so the cheese has a chance to melt without scorching.
