- 1 pound ground pork sausage
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons salted butter
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2½ cups milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ? teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cans refrigerated biscuits or 8 homemade
In a large skillet over medium high heat, add the ground sausage and cook, using a spatula to break up the sausage. Add the water to help break up the sausage as it cooks, continuing to heat until no longer pink—about 6-7 minutes.
Add the butter, onion powder, garlic powder, and flour to the cooked sausage and stir together. While stirring constantly, gradually add the milk and cook until the gravy comes to a boil. Once it reaches a low boil, reduce the heat to medium low and continue to cook for 2 minutes while stirring constantly.
Once it has cooked and thickened, remove from the heat and season with salt and pepper. Serve hot over a split biscuit. Enjoy!
Storing instructions: store leftover gravy in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days, or in the freezer for up to 2 months. To thaw, transfer to the fridge overnight.
Reheating: reheat in a medium saucepan over medium heat, adding a little splash of milk and stirring often.
