Pumpkin Spice Syrup Recipe

This easy homemade pumpkin spice syrup brings the flavor of fall right into your very own kitchen.  Made with pumpkin puree, brown sugar simple syrup and pumpkin pie spices, this seasonal syrup tastes great served over pancakes, added to coffee or cocktails or even spooned over ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons karo syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/8 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, karo syrup, butter, and water. Whisk well, then add the cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, and cloves and whisk again.
  • Bring the mixture to a rapid boil, then continue to boil for 2 minutes while stirring frequently. After 2 minutes, remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
  • Strain through a fine mesh strainer, then allow to cool for at least 5-10 minutes before using. Serve on your favorite waffles, pancakes or French toast. Enjoy!

Notes

Storing instructions: Cool completely, then store in an airtight container or glass jar in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
