- 1 lb Ground Pork Sausage Jimmy Dean or similar brand
- 2 Tablespoons Water
- 2 Tablespoons Salted Butter or bacon grease
- ¼ teaspoon Onion Powder
- ¼ teaspoon Garlic Powder
- ¼ cup All-Purpose Flour
- 2 ½ cups Milk whole or 2%
- 1 pinch Salt to taste
- 1 pinch Pepper to taste
- 2 cans Refrigerated Biscuits or homemade
In a large skillet over medium high heat, add the ground sausage and cook, using a spatula to break up the sausage. You may need to add a tablespoon or two of water to help break up the sausage as it cooks. Continue to heat until no longer pink, or about 6-7 minutes.
Add butter, onion powder, garlic powder and flour to the cooked sausage and stir together. While stirring constantly, gradually add milk and cook until the gravy comes to a boil. Once it reaches a low boil, reduce the heat to medium low and continue to cook for 2 minutes while still stirring constantly.
Once it has cooked and thickened, remove from the heat and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot over a split biscuit. Enjoy!
