Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups Water warm (95-110 degrees F)
  • 3 Tablesoons Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • ½ cup Olive Oil to brush on before grilling

Pizza Toppings

  • 1 cup Marinara Sauce or your favorite kind of pizza sauce
  • 3 cups Cheese add about ¼-1/3 cup cheese to each pizza
  • ½ cup Pepperoni or your favorite pizza toppings

Instructions

Grilled Pizza Dough

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast and mix well.  Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, or until it becomes frothy and bubbly.
  • Once your yeast has "proofed," add the salt and 3 cups of flour. Mix on low speed using the dough hook for about 2 minutes. The dough should appear to be a little stringy.
  • Add in the rest of the flour, about ¼ cup at a time until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl. Mix on low speed for another 1-2 minutes until the dough is nice and smooth, then transfer to a lightly floured surface.
  • Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and form them into balls. If you want to use any right away, use your hands to pull and spread to a 12-14" round, then use as needed. Otherwise, wrap each dough ball tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.

How to Grill A Pizza

  • Preheat grill to 350 degrees F.
  • Stretch your dough into a 110-12” round, then brush with olive oil.  Place the pizza crust, oil side down and Cook for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown on the underside. Brush the too with olive oil and using thongs, flip the pizza.
  • Close the grill for 2-3 minutes, keeping a close eye on the pizza until you get a feel for how hot your grill is cooking.
  • Flip the dough over and add a thin layer of sauce, cheese and any toppings that you want. (Note: you’ll want to go light on the cheese because it needs to melt in the time it takes the dough to finish cooking). Cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the crust is cooked and the cheese is melted. Turn the heat on the grill down and continue to cook on undirect heat for 3-4 minutes or until the cheese is melted and toppings are cooked.
  • Remove from the grill and cool on a wire rack for a couple minutes before slicing and serving.  Enjoy!
