Apple Cinnamon French Toast Bake

Apple Cinnamon French Toast Bake is an easy and delicious french toast bake you can make ahead of time.  This Overnight Apple French Toast Bake is the perfect addition to any brunch menu, if you have a crowd to feed or holiday breakfast meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 large loaf French Bread you can also use Challa Bread
  • 3 cups Apples about 3 large apples
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 12 large Eggs
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg
  • 1 pinch cloves

How to Make Struessel Topping for French Toast Bake

  • 6 tablespoons Butter room temperature
  • cup brown sugar
  • cup flour all-purpose
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

Instructions

How to Make Cinnamon Apple French Toast Bake

  • Spray or grease a 9 by 13? pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Cut the french bread into ¾"- 1" chunks and add to the greased baking pan.
  • Wash, peel, core, and cut the apples into ½" chunks. Add the apples to the bread.
  • In a large mixing bowl, crack the 12 eggs and whisk with a fork.  Add the milk, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Whisk again until all the ingredients are combined.
  • Add to the egg mixture to the bread and apples and fold together until all the bread chunks are coated. 
  • Cover the french toast bake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 4-48 hours.

Baking the French Toast Bake

  • When you are ready to bake the french toast casserole, take the baking dish out of the fridge. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Be sure the baking dish has a chance to come up to room temperature before putting it in the oven. 

How to Make Streusel Topping

  • In a medium-size mixing bowl, add the room temperature butter, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon.  Stir or mix with your hands until the mixture has ¼" pieces. 
  • Sprinkle the butter mixture on the french toast bake.
  • Once the baking dish is at room temperature, bake for 45-60 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.  
  • Serve with whipped cream, buttermilk syrup or your favorite fruit.  Enjoy!
