Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms

These Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms are easy stuffed mushrooms recipes. This stuffed mushroom appetizers is stuffed with spicy sausage, cream cheese, and topped with a panko and a parmesan breadcrumb topping. It's a delicious and easy appetizer recipe that can be served hot or warm.

Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms

  • 2 Lbs Mushrooms or 25-30 mushrooms
  • ½ Lb Spicy Sausage
  • 2 tsp garlic (minced)
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened)

Breadcrumb Topping (optional)

  • ¼ cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 Tbsp Butter or Olive OIl
  • Parsley (for garnish after baking)


  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  • Wipe off the mushrooms with a paper towel and gently pop out the stem of the mushroom.
  • Chop mushroom stems finely and set aside
  • In a saucepan on medium heat. Saute the sausage until it is almost all cooked.
  • Add the chopped mushroom stems and garlic. Saute until the mushroom stems are tender.
  • Add the cream cheese and heat until the cream cheese is melted. Stir ingredients until well combined.
  • Using a small spoon (I like to put the ingredients into a disposable cake decorating bag and cut the tip off) fill each mushroom until there is a heaping mound of sausage in each mushroom. 
  • In a small bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, a tablespoon of butter or olive oil, and the parmesan cheese.  
  • Sprinkle each mushroom with breadcrumb topping.
  • Bake on a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet for 20-25 minutes in a 350-degree oven or until the mushroom is cooked and the cheese mixture is lightly golden.  
  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Stuffed Mushrooms are best served when warm.
