Crockpot Cheesy Potatoes Recipe
This slow cooker cheesy hash brown potatoes recipe is an easy crockpot potatoes recipe. These slow cooker potatoes are a dump and go recipe and can be made ahead of time and then ready when you are.
Servings: 8 people
- 1 20 oz bag Shredded Potatoes frozen and pre-packaged work great
- 3 tablespoons Butter
- 1.5 cups Onion diced
- 2 cups Cheese (reserve ½ c for topping)
- 1 cup Sour Cream
- 1 10.5 oz can Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 2 tsp Garlic Salt
Spray the inside of your Slow Cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
In a skillet, on medium heat, melt the butter and add the onions. Sautee the onions, on medium heat, until they are soft, tender and caramelized.
In the slow cooker, add the shredded potatoes, caramelized onions, half of the shredded cheese, sour cream, cream of mushroom soup and the garlic salt. Stir until combined.
Spread the ingredients in to the bottom of the slow cooker with a spoon and add the remaining ½ cup of shredded cheese.
Cook on high for 2.5- 3 hours or low for 4-5 hours. Or until the cheese is melted and slightly golden. Let the potatoes cool for about 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
