This Southwest Ranch Dressing Recipe is a kicked-up ranch dressing recipe. It's sometimes referred to at our house as salsa ranch too.  It's perfect for taco salad, quesadillas, or as a dip for chicken fingers.   This will soon become your favorite tex-mex salad dressing recipe.

Homemade Ranch Dressing Mix

  • 2 teaspoon Dried Dill Week
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Chives
  • 2 Tablespoon Garlic Salt (or you can use 1 Tablespoon Dried Parsley, 1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder, and 1 teaspoon salt)
  • 1 Tablespoon Onion Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Ground Black Pepper

Additional Items Needed to Make Homemade Ranch Dressing

  • ½ Cup Mayo
  • ½ Cup Buttermilk

Salsa Ranch

  • 1 Cup Ranch Dressing Prepared
  • 1 Cup Salsa Green Salsa, or your favorite salsa
  • 1 4 oz can Green Chillies
  • ½ Bunch Cilantro (minced)


How to make Homemade Ranch Dressing Mix

  • In a small bowl, combine the dill weed, dried chives garlic salt, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix

How to Make Homemade Ranch Dressing

  • Combine 1 ½ Tablespoons of Ranch Dressing Mix, buttermilk, and the mayo. Mix with a whisk until combined.   

How to make Southwest Ranch Dressing

  • In a blender, combine 1 cup prepared ranch dressing, 1 cup salsa, and (1) 4oz. can of green chilies, and the cilantro. Blend until smooth.  Use on salad, as a dip for quesadilla's, or as a dip for your favorite veggies.
