Mississippi Pork Roast

This Easy Crockpot Mississippi Pork Roast is a crock pot roast recipe.  It's an easy dump and go beef recipe that makes the most tender and juicy shredded pork.  Mississippi pot roast is soon to be a family favorite!

Ingredients

  • 3-5 lb Pork Roast
  • 6-7 large Pepperoncini
  • 1 pkg Ranch Seasoning
  • 1 pkg Au Jus Seasoning
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter

Instructions

  • Spray your crockpot with non-stick cooking spray
  • Add your pork roast to the crockpot and sprinkle the ranch seasoning packet and au jus seasoning packet on the roast.
  • Add the pepperoncini's and a couple of tablespoons of the liquid and place the pats of butter on the roast.
  • Cook on high for 4-6 hours depending on the size of the roast or until you can easily shred the roast with two forks, the meat is done.  (If the roast is difficult to shred.  Put the lid on and cook for 30-60 more minutes or until it’s easily spreadable. )
  • Shred the pork roast taking out any large pieces of fat or gristle. Spoon the sauce over the roast.
  • Serve on mashed potatoes, a roll, or pretzel bun. Enjoy

How to Make Mississippi Pork Roast in the Oven

  1. Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F.
  2. Pat dry your pork roast with paper towels.
  3. Place your roast in a large dutch oven.
  4. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning packet and au jus seasoning packet on the roast.
  5. Add the pepperoncini's and a couple of Tablespoons of the liquid.
  6. Place the pats of butter on the roast.
  7. Cover your dutch oven with a lid.
  8. Bake in a preheated 300 degree F oven for about 5-6 hours or until the roast shreds easily with two forks.
  9. Shred the pork roast taking out any large pieces of fat or gristle. Spoon the sauce over the roast.
  10. Serve on mashed potatoes, a roll, or pretzel bun. Enjoy.

How to Make Mississippi Pork Roast in the Instant Pot

  1. Pat dry your pork roast with paper towels.
  2. Add your Pork Roast to the bottom of your Intat Pot
  3. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning packet and au jus seasoning packet on the roast.
  4. Add the pepperoncini's and a couple of Tablespoons of the liquid.
  5. Place the pats of butter on the roast.
  6. Close the lid and turn the steam release valve to the "sealing" position
  7. Press the pressure Cook Button and set the timer for 45 minutes.
  8. After the time has completed, allow your Instant Pot to naturally release the pressure (this will take about 20 minutes)
