This Creamy Garlic Tortellini Alfredo is a one-pot meal.  It's made with chunks of golden brown chicken, homemade creamy garlic sauce, and fresh tortellini pasta.  It can be made in about 20 minutes and everyone loves it.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 1-2 Large Chicken Breasts Cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt

Creamy Garlic Pasta Sauce

  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 4 Cloves Garlic or 4 teaspoon Minced
  • 2 Cups Chicken Broth
  • 1 Cup Heavy Cream
  • ½ tsp Pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 1 ½ Cups Parmesan Cheese Grated, Shredded, or both

Pasta

  • 24 oz Fresh Tortellini I found mine at Costco

Instructions

Prepare Chicken

  • Cut chicken breast into 1" pieces.  In a deep non-stick skillet, add the olive oil and chicken.  Sprinkle the chicken breasts with the Italian Seasoning and garlic salt. On medium heat, stir the chicken breast occasionally and brown chicken breast until golden.
  • Remove the chicken breast from the pan and set it aside.

Creamy Garlic Pasta Sauce

  • Melt 2 tablespoon butter in the pan. Use a wooden spoon to scrape the golden chicken bits off the bottom of the pan.  (these little bits add a ton of flavoring to this pasta dish)
  • Add minced garlic to the pan and saute until fragrant and just slightly golden.
  • Add chicken broth, cream, pepper, and garlic salt and bring to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes to reduce a little of the liquid.
  • Add parmesan and bring to a boil again.

Tortellini Pasta

  • Add the tortellini pasta and let the pasta simmer until done. (The directions on my packaging was for 3 minutes. If your fresh tortellini pasta is different than that you may want to cook your pasta in a separate pot and then add the cooked pasta to the recipe at this point.)
  • Add the cooked chicken and stir until all the ingredients are combined.  If your creamy garlic pasta sauce is a little runny, just let the pasta sit for about 5 minutes before serving.  If your tortellini pasta seems a little dry, add a little extra cream or chicken broth until you have the desired consistency.  Enjoy!
  • Garnish with minced fresh parsley and/or parmesan cheese.  Enjoy!
