Sausage Gravy Recipe

This homemade sausage gravy is our absolute favorite country gravy recipe.

It’s quick and easy to make and tastes great with your favorite canned or homemade biscuits.

INGREDIENTS

– Pork Sausage – Butter – Onion Powder – Garlic Powder – All-Purpose Flour

In a large skillet over medium high heat, add the ground sausage and cook, using a spatula to break up the sausage.

1

You may need to add a tablespoon or two of water to help break up the sausage as it cooks. Continue to heat until no longer pink, or about 6-7 minutes. Do not drain the fat.

2

Add butter, onion powder, garlic powder, and flour to the cooked sausage and stir together.

3

While stirring constantly, gradually add milk and cook until the gravy comes to a boil.  Once it reaches a low boil, reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to cook for 2 minutes until thickened.

4

Once it has cooked and thickened, remove it from the heat and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot over a split biscuit.
